About FattyFix

FattyFix is an independent publication about one condition: fatty liver disease — the metabolic form now called MASLD (previously NAFLD) and the alcohol-related form.

Why the site exists

Most people meet this diagnosis sideways. An ultrasound ordered for something else mentions a "fatty liver", or a routine blood test comes back with a raised ALT, and the appointment ends before the questions start. What follows is usually a search — and what that search returns is a mix of supplement marketing, detox programmes and pages written for other conditions.

FattyFix exists to answer those questions one at a time, in plain language, and to be honest about where the evidence is thin.

What we publish

• Single-question articles — is this food useful, is this supplement safe, does this test show anything.
• Topic hubs that collect those answers into a subject you can read end to end.
• Calculators that implement published, named instruments (FIB-4, AST/ALT ratio, waist-to-height ratio, BMI, Mifflin-St Jeor) and show the cut-offs from their own literature. They run entirely in your browser.

What we do not do

We do not sell supplements, detox programmes, test kits, meal plans or consultations. We do not accept payment for coverage, and no brand has editorial input here. We do not diagnose, treat, or give personal medical advice, and we cannot answer individual clinical questions by email.

Who writes it

FattyFix is written and edited by a small editorial team. Our articles are not written or reviewed by a practising clinician. We state that plainly rather than implying a medical review that has not happened, and every article links to the national health bodies whose guidance it summarises so you can check it against a primary source.
